![]() The main story just largely feels like some harem fantasy, and it was incredibly slow-paced. I’d consider pushing through if the story and characters were good but they aren’t. And for the last two dungeons of the main story I guess the devs though it would be cute to make save points in the dungeon sparseĪnd for the voiceless second half of the game I’m gonna have to do these dungeons again? That’s seriously the design for almost every single dungeon. It’s just circular platforms connected by tubes, along with the annoyingly frequent dead end paths with higher encounter rates that lead to a treasure chest. It’s literally the exact same design used over and over and over and over and over and over and over again for every dungeon You just do the exact same thing for every fight and it’s overly chaotic a lot of the time.ĭungeons are fucking horrible. I’m currently in the final dungeon of the main story and I don’t think I’m going to bother pushing through. So is it worth playing to the end? Is the story enjoyable enough to keep going and see where it goes? Thanks to anyone who replies just haven't played tales in like 12 years or more and no other franchise like it has got me hooked like tales has other then infinite undiscovery or final fantasy and well we all know what has happened to final fantasy and Thier ungodly like need to modernize the series.I made a thread a while ago, like probably over 6 months ago, praising the game.īut then I took a long hiatus and continued where I left off. But to late to change my mind now.īut my question is is it really as bad as people are saying? Like I've noticed most user reviews are positive and overall rating is positive which leads me to believe it's not as bad as the few say it is and so far I'm really kinda liking it although I'm tired of playing the chosen one character type which this seems to be the world seems interesting and the fact they seem to have kinda combined Arthurian legend and biblical stories into a world of Thier own has me intrigued. Besteria was on sale for 10 but everything I've seen trailer and review wise idk it really didn't catch my interest the story of a woman hell bent on revenge no matter who she hurts or kills along the way or even if it means destroying peace and everything people hold of value just doesn't do it for me especially if there is no character growth which it seems there isn't. But I saw this weekend a lot of the tales games on steam were on sale for the weekend and Zestiria was like 5 bucks. Not that I lost interest or anything just had 100 other games I wanted to play and the length became a drag for me considering the shortest playtime for someone of my playstyle to beat the game is like 75-100 hours or something like that. Then came vesperia I liked what I played of it but considering I was only able to pick up copy by chance at a GameStop when on sale cause it was like 60 bucks for like ages later in life it was way to long for me. My first tales games was Symphonia dawn of a new world and I absolutely loved it it was the first game for me that took anime and manga storytelling and made its own original story and made it feel like you were playing an anime made for gaming and could only experience through gaming which took me down the rabbit hole of jrpgs of that style cause I love anime art style and overall storytelling.
